About Tiny houses

Tiny houses  are designed to be just like a real house but smaller. Therefore, the quality should, in theory, be the same standard as a traditional house.

Tiny houses can take much long time to build, especially if you're doing it yourself. However, they are of good quality. It's estimated that professionals can build a tiny home in around 1-2 weeks. But if you're doing it yourself, it's around 1-2 months.

A large number of tiny houses are built on wheels. Often to bypass certain planning restrictions, but also because being able to change location whenever you want is a huge perk.

TINY HOUSES vs. MOBILE HOUSES

Despite the name, mobile houses are typically less mobile than tiny houses. Once set up, they are usually stationary and cannot be easily moved. Mobile houses tend to be less self-sufficient than tiny houses, requiring a dump station and other hook-ups.

The next difference between tiny houses and mobile houses is their size. While tiny houses are typically less than 121 square meters, mobile houses can range up to 304 square meters. This difference in size impacts how the space is utilised and what additional features can be included.

The trend of trading traditional houses for tiny homes has become a movement in and of itself, complete with books,Instagram pages, influencers and blogs.

Living in tiny houses is about choosing financial freedom over the stress and burden of a mortgage. It's also often about minimizing your carbon footprint, using recycled materials, and living in a more environmentally conscious way, whether totally off-grid and self-sufficient or ensuring optimum energy efficiency.
